  • Robert Dafford Murals, “Arrival of the Acadians in Louisiana” Mural at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville and “Embarkation of the Acadians for Louisiana” Mural in the Chantenay district of Nantes, France. Signed at St. Martinville on October 4, 1993, by the Acadian Memorial Project Committee of the Tourism Commission of the City of St. Martinville, Louisiana and the Association Regionale de l’Ouest des Amities Acadiennes of Nantes, France. Both murals exist to memorialize the Acadian Diaspora and the Acadian connection between Nantes, France and Louisiana. Twinning agreement renewed on October 15, 2011 at St. Martinville, Louisiana during the Grand Revéil Acadien.
  • Evangeline Oak Park and Grand-Pré National Historic Site in Nova Scotia, Canada. Signed at Grand-Pré Church on September 12, 1996 by the City of St. Martinville and Canadian Heritage. Both sites are devoted to the preservation of the Acadian diaspora and their respective local history.   • City of St. Martinville, Louisiana and Town of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada. Signed at Bouctouche on September 19, 1996 by the City of St. Martinville and Town of Bouctouche. These municipalities share ties to Acadian literature and history. Signed at St. Martinville on April 4, 1997 by the Mayor and Tourism coordinator of St. Martinville and the Mayor and twinning committee of Chaudfontaine.   • City of St. Martinville and the City of Gorée Island, Senegal. Signed at Gorée Island on December 3, 1999 by Mayor of St. Martinville and Mayor of Gorée Island. Historically, St. Martinville was a point of arrival for non-native settlers of Southwest Louisiana, while Gorée Island was a point of departure for thousands of enslaved Africans who were taken from their home continent and sent into perilous exile. Today, both cities celebrate their African heritage.
  • Friendship agreement. City of St. Martinville, Louisiana, Town of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, and City of Châtellerault, France. Signed at Grand-Pré, Nova Scotia during Congrès mondial acadien on August 9, 2004 by a Citizen of St. Martinville, Town of Bouctouche, and City of Châtellerault. The connection between the three municipalities is as follows: the Town of Bouctouche and the City of St. Martinville are twin cities, and the Town of Bouctouche is located in the New Brunswick region of Kent-South, which is twinned with the City Châtellerault, France.
  • City of St. Martinville, Louisiana and Town of Madawaska, Maine. Signed at St. Martinville on June 26th, 2005 by City of St. Martinville and a Citizen of Madawaska. Both cities celebrate their Acadian heritage and are both areas of permanent Acadian settlements resulting from the Acadian diaspora.   • Acadian Memorial & Museum of the Acadian Memorial, St. Martinville, Louisiana and Société du Monument Lefebvre, Memramcook, New Brunswick. Signed at Pokemouche, New Brunswick during Congrès mondial acadien on August 18, 2009 by the Acadian Memorial Foundation and the Société du Monument Lefebvre. Both sites preserve the heritage and history of the Acadian diaspora and their final places of resettlement.   • Evangeline Statues, Delores Del Rio, Evangeline 1931, statue located behind St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, St. Martinville and Emelie Breaux Frazer, Evangeline 1955, statue located in front of the Evangeline Parish Courthouse, Ville Platte. Twinned on April 19, 2011 at Ville Platte by delegations from St. Martin Parish and Evangeline Parish as part of “Making the Connection: Evangeline to Evangeline.” A bronze Maquette of the statue is on display at the Museum of the Acadian Memorial.   http://www.evangelinetourism.com/
